Description

The graduate student lab, located in SEM 203, is a dedicated computing facility open for use by any Computer Science & Engineering graduate student. The lab is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round for any graduate student that wishes to use it, and may also be used by undergraduate students when their courses require the use of the machines. For more information about obtaining access to the graduate lab, please contact the Department of Computer Science & Engineering office.

Equipment

The machines available in the lab are Dell workstations running the Windows XP operating system. Many of the systems are configured as dual-boot workstations, capable of booting into both RedHat Linux running Fedora Core 3 and Windows XP. Additionally, a laser printer is available in the lab for the convenience of students, though it should be used sparingly.

Availability

Though the lab computers are typically available for use without reservation, course requirements often merit that some of the systems be made available only to students of that course. The graphic above shows the current reservations for the workstations in the graduate student lab.
