The same application deadlines apply to all CSE graduate programs.

For international students currently outside the U.S., the deadlines for filing application materials with the Graduate School are:

• March 15 for the Fall semester
• September 15 for the Spring semester

For students currently in the U.S., the deadlines for filing application materials with the Graduate School are:

• May 15 for the Fall semester
• November 15 for the Spring semester

Regardless of the category (currently outside the U.S, or inside the U.S.) if a student plans to apply for a Teaching Assistantship (TA) he or she should apply for admission by March 15 or September 15, respectively.

• March 15 for Fall semester
• September 15 for Spring semester

The comprehensive exams will be regularly held once a year, during the week before classes start in the Fall semester (specifically, on three consecutive days during that week: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). If needed, exams could be also scheduled for the week before the Spring semester. The comprehensive examinations should be completed by PhD students by the end of their second year in the program. Students interested in taking the comprehensive exams should register by the following deadlines:

• March 15 for Fall semester
• November 15 for Spring semester
