Ilias ApostolopoulosProfileI'm currently working on the localization and path planning aspects of an indoor navigation system for the visually impaired called Navatar. The project seeks to exploit the characteristics of indoor environments, the unique sensing and navigation abilities of the visually impaired and the state-of-the-art methodologies in artificial intelligence and robotics. I am also interested in developing computer games. The project is headed by Dr. Eelke Folmer, Dr. Kostas Bekris and I am collaborating with my fellow graduate student Navid Fallah. I am also assisting in the development of a multi-agent physics-based simulation tool that is developed by the PRACSYS group at UNR. BackgroundI come from a small town in Greece called Farsala. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from University of Crete in 2007. Today, I am a graduate student at the University of Nevada working towards my PhD in Computer Science. I work with Dr. Kostas Bekris in the PRACSYS group of the Robotics Research Lab. On May 2011, I got my Master's Degree in Computer Science from University of Nevada. Publications
