Limitations of VGX
Project Objectives

The effectiveness of the VGX as a training tool depends on the precision of the sensed motion and ease of use.

The present design of the VGX utilizes research technologies that incorporate electro-mechanical sensing (i.e. cybergloves) that

bullet

hinders the naturalness of user interaction with the simulator,

bullet

does not provide user access to the entire functional workspace,

bullet

does not measure all the degrees of freedom of natural hand/digit movements,

bullet

requires time consuming calibration procedures.
