Due Date: 5/7/2012 - Be prepared to present your project on the last day of class

Design the network infrastructure for ONE of these:

1. A two story business with 300 computers on each floor.

The business needs all the computers connected to the internet.

2. A company with offices in Reno, London and Tokyo needs all their offices connected together.

Project Requirements:

· Work in groups of 2

· Decide who is going to do what parts of the project

· Decide what routers / switches you will use (Cisco Juniper others?)

a. Decide how to connect to the internet for # 1 above

b. Decide how to connect the equipment together (internet, VPN, leased lines, satellite) for #2 above

· Create a diagram of your proposed network - ECC lab has Visio or use an on-line drawing tool

· Come up with a cost estimate for the project

a. assume it costs $200 to install each network drop in a building for # 1 above

· Present your results to the class – about 10 minutes with a few minutes for questions

· Include a slide of who did which part of the project
