Project Description:

Simetrics is an academic project for CSE 426: Senior Projects at the University of Nevada, Reno. Its purpose is to provide a simple tool for managing the software development process by giving its users, software project managers, a valuable overview of software functionality, schedule, cost, and risk associated with a product's development. With Simetrics, a potentially large and unorganized set of software metrics data may be simplified into a simple visual that may be used to depict project progress. Managers will be able to keep a number of software metrics updated painlessly and frequently, reducing the amount of overall software project development time by simplifying the metrics acquisition and risk assessment processes. To provide this functionality, Simetrics will offer an interface to a widely used and standard file format provided by Microsoft Office 2003. Within Microsoft Office applications, the manager will be assisted with metrics data entry and provided with an easy to use solution for conversion of this data into a visual format ready for analysis.
