The Forum Issue

Right now there are two options for "forums":

Wiki Discussion Pages

This right here is a Wiki Discussion Page. It's not really a forum page at all. More like a big sheet of paper people just write too.

Pros

• All discussion automatically linked to topic
• Only have to sign in once

Cons

• No real structure to the conversation
• Hard to have multiple conversations under same topic (although this can be done with different conversations happening under different sections)
• No real place for off topic conversations

External Forums

This will likely be something like phpBB, although we are open to alternatives.

Pros

• Structure to the conversation
• People are familiar with how forums work
• Private areas for Devs (though we never needed this before)

Cons

• Have to create two accounts, one for the wiki, one for the forums (and one for Bugzilla, too)
• Information, like logins, is more scattered. Some info will be in bugzilla, some in the wiki, some in the forums.
