RESEARCH

Focus of my research interests is on computer communication networks. Some recent areas I have worked on are Free-Space-Optical Networks; Wireless Routing; Network Economics; Network Modeling and Peer-to-Peer; Multicast; and Network Management and Simulation. I am the Director of Computer Networking Lab (CNL).

Some of the current projects I am working on are as follows:

BIOGRAPHY

Murat Yuksel is currently an Assistant Professor at the CSE Department of The University of Nevada - Reno (UNR), Reno, NV. He was with the ECSE Department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a member of Adjunct Faculty until 2006. He received a B.S. degree from Computer Engineering Department of Ege University, Izmir, Turkey in 1996. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Computer Science Department of RPI in 1999 and 2002 respectively. His research interests are in the area of computer communication networks with a special focus on experimental networking, such as wireless ad-hoc networks, large-scale network simulation and experiment design, mobile ad-hoc free-space-optical (FSO) networks, network economics, and performance analysis. He is a member of IEEE, Sigma Xi, and ASEE.
