To install Konica Minolta Copier as a printer on Mac OS X
Go to Konica website if you don't have driver, the address to get right to the
driver selection is:
http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/download/Search.aspx
The 10.5 drivers should now be available.
They don't show 10.5 drivers for the black & white copiers
but I've tested the 200,350, and 750 with the 10.4 driver and it works fine.
Once the driver has installed, follow the steps below.
- Click on System Preferences
- Click on Print & Fax under hardware section
- Click on + sign to add new printer
- Click on IP on top selection
- Select Protocol LPD-Line Printer Daemon
- In the Address box type IP address of Konica (see below for the IP)
- Leave Que section blank
- You should get the sentence “Valid and complete address” under IP address
- In the Print using box click the arrow and pick the Konica copier you are installing
- To set the users code for the Konica start a document in any word processor
- Click File and print. This will bring up the printer selection box.
- Select the Konica model you want to setup.
- In the third select box (usually defaults to Copies & Pages) select security
- This will open the authentication selections, select box on Account Track
- Put users code in the Department Name box - leave password blank
- Before you hit Print, go up to Presets and select save as to save your user code.
- If you have multiple printers be sure that when you print to the Konica’s the
right Preset is selected (Mac won’t save it for each printer, it remembers only the
last one used)
