Remote Access to your Windows System at Work
To access your Windows system from home you'll need to install TightVNC on both your home and work computers.
Start the VNC server on your work computer and setup a password. Then you can use the VNC client on your home computer to access your work computer.
Poke a hole in the Windows firewall on your work computer:
- Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection Properties (right click) -> Advanced Tab -> Firewall Settings -> Exceptions Tab -> Add Port
- Name: VNC
- Port Number: 5900
- Port Type: TCP
