Fred Harris received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and his Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Bob Jones University and his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Clemson University. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Reno where he has been since 1994. His research interests are in Parallel and Distributed Computing as well as in Virtual Reality. This past year he and his students have designed and built and are using the largest computer in the state of Nevada which has 60 processors, 120 Gigabytes of memory, more than 1/2 a Terabyte of Disk storage and a 2-Gigabit interconnection network.
