Title: Two Novel Cases of Plasma Characterization Through Spectroscopic Modeling. Abstract: Detailed spectroscopic modeling has been successfully applied for many years to characterize intense nanosecond duration laser produced plasmas. However, two types of laser produced plasmas have been given little detailed attention: plasmas produced through laser ablation and those driven by intense ultrashort lasers. This talk will focus on spectroscopic techniques developed specifically to deal with modeling issues in these respective regimes. In addition, these two investigation have lead to insights into the fundamental nature of the field of spectroscopic modeling that may prove useful in future investigations.
