ECC On the Go
ECC LabConnect is a mobile application designed for engineering students in University of Nevada, Reno. With LabConnect installed on their mobile devices, students are able to access Engineering Student News and check real-time information on the Engineering Computing Center (ECC).
Real-Time Information
ECC LabConnect displays the exact number of available computers in ECC real-time. Students are also able to view a graphical layout of computers in each lab room and know where open computers are located at a glance. ECC LabConnect also displays reservation schedules for each lab in a graphical timetable so that students are able to see which labs are reserved and when.

Besides computer availability, students are able to view a list of software installed on computers in each lab of the ECC. This is useful because not all softwares are available in all computers in ECC. Students can use ECC LabConnect to locate a computer that has desired software installed.
ECC LabConnect - Future Potential
Although the app is currently limited to the Engineering Computing Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, it has the potential of being adapted and used in any computer labs, especially in educational settings. As the product is further developed and implemented, additional features will be available.
