Bright baked chicken

Ingredients

Preparation

Get a blender. Chop the onion, chillies, and tomatoes into smaller pieces and shove them in the blender. Blend until you have a thick liquid. Now, put in the coriander and butter. Blend until the coriander has been liquified.

It is now time for the spices! Mmmmmm. Stir in the garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric, chilli powder, and salt. Blend. Yes, we are doing a lot blending, but that's the whole point of making a nice thick syruppy liquid for your chicken to bake in.

If you haven't already, last, but not least put in the yogurt, That's it. We are ready to bake. Shaking optional.

Did I forget to mention the garlic and ginger again? Well let this be a lesson to you. Always read the fricking instructions - unless you are a real man. In which case, you would have had a lot of beer by now, and don't really care. Anyway, shove in some ginger (1/4 finger) and 5 or so cloves of garlic. Blend.

Also, make some cuts in the larger chicken pieces. We want to maximize surface area for the blend to get into.

Ok, now we are ready for some sports. But first, pour in a thin layer of blended, syruppy, gooey liquid, saucy sauce into one of those aluminum baking pans. 13 in. X 9 in. X 2 in. suffices for 3 pounds. Place the chicken in a single layer (if possible) large pieces first into the pan. Use the small pieces to fill in the interstices (like you've ever seen that word used in a recipe before). Now pour in the rest on the oh so thick and syruppy, yummy, blend over the chicken pieces. Ensure coverage of all that is chicken.

Shove the baking pan into the oven set to 350 degrees farenheit. This happens to be 176.666667 degrees celsius or 449.81667 degrees Kelvin. I used to be a physicist.

Did I mention you need to cover the pan in a sheet of aluminum foil to let the chicken joil in its own buices.

And, artfully arrange the cloves strategically around the pan.

Watch football, football (soccer), baseball, and basketball. There is a narrow period in October when you can watch all four. Canadiens can also watch hockey. Cricket, well I hope they are playing in the southern hemisphere.

When the games are over, or after three hours, whichever comes first, remove the aluminum foil and let it bake for another 30 minutes. Turn over the pieces and bake for another 30 minutes.

Serve hot. I eat it with basmati rice or with chapatis or with naan

Enjoy!
