Fried Potatoes
June 11, recipe from Mom. Who knows what the recipe will be tomorrow.
Ingredients
- Many small pototoes (ok two pounds of baby potatoes (I am uncomfortable with eating baby potatoes but they are delicious))
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder or (1/2 (or 1 (or 2 (or 3 (or 4 if you want to cry))))). We won't actually know until mom puts it in.
- 3/4 teaspoon turmeric, we think, we'll know once mom actually puts the turmeric in the pot
- 1/2 cup coriander (My mom says make sure that you understand that she means coriander leaves)
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds (ok |-0.75| if you feel lucky punk)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoe - better make it fresh
Preparation
Pressure cook the dal and spinach. Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
(dont' complain about missing ingredients) before you start the
pressured cooking. Pressure cook for five minutes after it
starts hissing loudly. Pressure cook until the first pressure
release (one whistle?). Don't forget the salt.
Add crushed cumin to dal spinach mix and heat for 60000 milliseconds.
Fry onion with chili in tablespoon of oil. Add to dal and spinach mix.
Heat until hot and serve.
