The Nevada AI Research Institute

What we do

AI work at a university is scattered by nature. It happens in engineering and in medicine, in the
business school and in the humanities, in agriculture and in mining. The institute exists to make
that work findable, so faculty can form teams quickly, so funding does not go unnoticed, and so a
Nevada business with a problem knows who to call.

Concretely, we do four things.

• We watch the funding landscape. Federal, state, industry, and foundation programs relevant to AI are collected daily and reviewed by our curator before they reach this site.
• We connect people. The faculty directory records what people actually work on and what they are looking for next, so a team can come together in days rather than months.
• We help Nevada organizations. Businesses, agencies, school districts, and utilities bring us problems. Some of that work becomes funded research. Much of it is simply help, and we count it as a success either way.
• We publish what we learn. The playbook library turns hard-won practical knowledge into guides that other people can use.

How this site is kept honest

Everything published here has been reviewed by a person. Automated tools help us find candidates,
draft summaries, and suggest categories, but nothing appears on a public page until our curator
approves it. Where a summary was drafted by AI, we say so.
