Class: IS675 Database Design and Implementation (2011) Implementation: Objective C, MS SQL Server, ASP.NET 4.0 Description: With multiple seminars being given at UNR everyday, a system of posting flyers around the university campus is used. However, this system has some flaws, as many students don't see these flyers. Those who do see a seminar that they are interested in may put it into their cell phones or mark it into their planners, however, this is still inconvenient as sometimes students may not have their cell phones or planner with them. Some department secretaries use email list to announce seminars, but the problem with email is that the announcement must be sent days before the seminar so students can plan ahead. However, on the day of the event, students might have lost the email and forgot what it is about.
The Solution: Create an application or website that will give daily or weekly updates to students that have the application or are subscribed to the website. This update will give students a list of upcoming seminars with details, and will allow students to easily save the ones that they want to go to.
